The British Consulate in Ekaterinburg is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is the UK’s only diplomatic mission in Russia outside of Moscow. We are now looking for a Corporate and Consular Support Officer.
This role is to provide maternity cover for the corporate and consular support officer. The successful candidate will provide efficient, high quality administrative support to the British Consulate. A flexible and proactive attitude will be necessary as the job holder will cover many responsibilities, including financial management, general administration, assisting with event organisation, visit programmes, and consular duties.
This role will include a certain amount of travel ( internal travel within Russia and possible international travel).
There may be a possibility for the role to be extended beyond November depending on consulate requirements.
Roles and responsibilities:
Responsible for consular support and updating consular information for UK nationals in the consular district where required. General administration support to the Consul-General, such as organising meetings, booking transport.
• Managing the consulate’s services contracts.
• Working with Moscow colleagues to manage the Consulate’s budget, including with due consideration for value for money.
• Oversight of contents of consulate stores, e.g., stationery, official crockery and maintain records for audit.
• Liaise with building landlords and local contractors to arrange repairs and maintenance.
• Responsible for logistical arrangements for regional visits by Consul-General.
• Monitor Consulate email inbox and telephone.
• Support inward visits for staff from BE Moscow.
• Update crisis management plan for the consulate.
• Logistical support for Consulate receptions and events.
• Ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

- Proficiency in written and spoken in English and Russian (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- At least 2 years of experience in administrative and/or executive support.
- Previous experience in interpretation in English and Russian languages.
- Logical and systematic approach to problem solving.
- Ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks with adaptability.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Ability to be well organised with attention to detail and follow through tasks, to communicate well to staff colleagues and to service providers.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated to seek innovative solutions.

- Strong personal resilience, to deal with a heavy workload in a challenging context.

This is a full-time and maternity leave cover contract until November 2024 (with possibility of extension),5 working days, 35 hours net per week.
The monthly salary for this position is Rub 94,410 gross, AO level, paid 13 times a year.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
All applicants should have a pre-existing legal status to live and work in Russia. The British Embassy does not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Russia is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Russian employment law.
