ABOUT US

Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

At its core NPY Women’s Council is about family and community – walytja. Our purpose is to work with women, children and their families of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia. Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Child and Family Wellbeing Service is made up of three programs; Child Nutrition, Child and Family Intensive Support Service (Walytjapiti) and Child Advocacy.

The primary focus of the Child and Family Wellbeing Service (CFWS) is to deliver targeted, efficient and effective community services within the NPY region, seeking the best possible outcomes with regard to improving the quality of life for Anangu children and communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In the role of Anangu Employment and Development Team Leader you will work lead the support for existing Anangu Community Workers in CFWS while taking opportunities to expand and develop this workforce.

This role will also work closely with Anangu communities, NPYWC directors and members. In addition, the position will work with a wide range of internal and external service providers to engage and support Anangu Community workers across the program.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a background in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Community Development and / or relevant experience.
