The University of Pittsburgh’s English Department is seeking an Academic Operations Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of all academic support operations within the English Department in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. The incumbent will be a key administrative leader within the unit, responsible for supervising and training all academic operations staff and serving as the unit’s advisor to both internal and external contacts in relation to academic affairs. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that tasks such as course scheduling, teaching assignments, book orders, faculty recruitment, faculty onboarding, faculty promotion, faculty contract renewals, ancillary and summer budget preparation and submission, and other academic-related duties are completed on time and in the most efficient manner within the unit. Responsible for creating and/or modifying internal procedures related to these tasks in order to ensure optimal operational efficiencies are met within the unit.
Bachelor’s degree with one to two years of experience. In place of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate Degree with 4-5 years experience, OR HS Diploma/GED with 8-9 years experience may be substituted.
