Organizational Unit Overview The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the integrity of student records for the university, the planning and execution of registration of students each semester, assignment of classroom space for classes and meetings, issuing grades, issuing transcripts, certification of degree requirements for students, mailing diplomas to graduates, and maintenance of a computerized student database.
Job Duties Act as liaison from ECU for Project Kitty Hawk. Project Kitty Hawk is a nonprofit ed-tech startup partnering with UNC System universities to serve adult learners. The position will work with adult students registering with ECU through Project Kitty Hawk. This position will work with both the Office of the Registrar and Office of Undergraduate Admissions to connect with Project Kitty Hawk staff and meet goals established by the joint efforts of ECU and Project Kitty Hawk.
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Coordinating all electronic admissions data for Project Kitty Hawk applications. This data can include application form, application fee, high school transcript, test scores SAT, ACT, TOEFL, AP, CLEP, etc.) college transcripts, and military transcripts (DANTES, DD214, etc.) for use in rendering admissions. Verifying all data for accuracy, authenticity and completeness. 
  • Calculating GPA and performing transfer articulation. This position will  also calculate unweighted, weighted, and cumulative grade point averages by analyzing complex transcripts from high schools, colleges, and universities and through electronic generation with Banner transfer articulation Knowledge of the NC Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for review of transferable course credit.
  • Identifying problems and issues that occur within the admissions application process. Using critical thinking and problem solving for potential solutions or improved functionality of the admissions process. Analyzes data for accuracy and applies modification and updates to student records in student database. Understand all functions in student database used for admissions decisions and ability to modify any found issues.

Minimum Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Clerical experience, with experience in an academic setting desirable. 
Knowledge of admissions and recruitment processes and procedures as well as the transfer articulation process preferred. 
Previous experience with Banner or a similar ERP is strongly desired.
