Agricultural Engineer

MAIN OBJECTIVE

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

1. Support the team in the selection phase of the beneficiaries.

2.Provide technical assistance and Coaching to the beneficiaries in terms of horticulture, smart agriculture and irrigation and production and preservation techniques of horticultural products. 

3.Ensure the elaboration of the TORs necessary for tenders to support farmers in materials and equipment for the installation of efficient irrigation systems and/or the initiation of climate-smart horticultural techniques.

4.Monitor the conformity of the requested equipment with what has been delivered by the companies contracted for the supply of equipment.

5.Write technical reports for the Project Manager.

6.Perform any other relevant duties as required.

REPORTING TO: Project Manager 

STUDIES REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree) in Agricultural Engineering or Horticultural sciences.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in the horticulture and/or irrigation sectors – at least 2 years.
• Previous experience with international NGO – at least 2 years.
• Experience in monitoring progress against targets.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Knowledge of the MS Office package.
• Fluency in Arabic and English required (writing and speaking).
