Job Description:

Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) AmeriCorps members support student scholars of FWPS by serving within AVID elective classrooms. AVID is designed to help historically underrepresented students gain access to college and acquire college readiness skills. This is an entry-level position that provides training and development that equips our FWPS AmeriCorps members with best practices in the field of education.

Member Duties:

• Tutoring middle and high school scholars
• Support AVID and teachers
• Host after-school homework club

Qualifications:

• At least 17 or older
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• US citizen or Legal resident
• A passion to serve

• 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
As part of the Federal Way School District, our program follows the same guidelines that the district has been provided by the state. PPE will be provided as needed.
