Position Summary
Remote Position: Collects and prepares complex financial information, which provides management with recommendations and documentation used in planning and budgeting.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects, analyzes and maintains complex data to produce quarterly and annual financial reports used by management. Provides necessary interpretation and explanation of work product as needed to peers and leadership.
- Performing accounts payable/receivable functions such as keying, processing and approving items for payment. Creating billing for contracts on a monthly basis.
- Participates in development, preparation, review and evaluation of annual strategic planning and budgeting process. May provide project management in support of unique and on-going initiatives.
- Develops, prepares and presents periodic accounting reports and schedules to administration relative to departmental operations, payroll and personnel administration, grants administration, purchasing and accounts payable/receivable functions. Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of reports along with retaining for future reference and development.
- Assists the finance team in driving simplification, process improvement and standardization on processes.
- Assists with development and utilization of other complex financial models and analysis.
- Performs special projects and prepare ad hoc operational and financial analysis as required by management.
- Attends meetings, education programs, workshops and keeps abreast of current literature.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Accounting background.
- Demonstrated effectiveness with Microsoft Office Suite tools with an advanced understanding of Excel, with analytical skills and University accounting system utilities.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to present information to leadership.
- Demonstrated business acumen – understands and can express the financial bottom line impact.
- Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative data and analysis and build action plans that identify gaps and tactics to aid/supply management with creative alternatives or solutions.
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with various leaders and contacts.
Required Qualifications
Equivalent of BS in business/accounting related field with more than five years of experience in finance/budgets and business management areas.

Salary Range
$47,300.00 – $78,200.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
