Job Description
Functions as Anatomy Lab Supervisor. Ensure that the operations of the program align with the vision set by the university. Supervise the receipt, embalming, and storage of all donated human material acquired through the body donation program. Uphold the highest standards of care to ensure the utmost respect of all human body donors. Maintain an updated database with all donated human material that are active within the program. Assist with the assignment of human material based on material requests received. Communicate with internal and external end users. Supervise the set-up and tear-down of all laboratories within the Division of Anatomy. Coordinate with different university academic and non-academic units. Supervise the operations of all laboratories within the Division of Anatomy. Train and supervise all operational staff of the program. Supervise and maintain a meticulous record keeping within the program. Ensure compliance with all university, state and federal regulations related to laboratory and human cadaver health and safety, and all associated policies and regulations. Embalm human cadavers as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Anatomical Services & Body Donation Program.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biological sciences or anatomy.

Additional Education Desired
Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 1 year of experience with laboratory methods, materials, equipment, and the design and fabrication of laboratory equipment is required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including skill to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and interact with diverse personalities and educational levels. Highly developed organizational skills to keep complete, concise and clear records to organize tasks, to schedule experiment needs. Must be able to meet multiple deadlines and deal with interruptions and changing priorities. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications

2-4 years of relevant experience. Leadership and supervisory skills.
