  • Opportunity to support business school academics by designing, developing, and assessing technology-informed learning experiences

  • Base salary $91,644 – $98,796 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

As the Assistant Learning Designer, you will work in close collaboration with the learning design and media production team members to support business school academics by designing, developing, implementing, and assessing engaging, sustainable technology-informed learning experiences. You will utilise Learning design skills to create digital learning experiences with visual resources, application interfaces, activities, exercises, and assessments for blended learning, aiming to enhance student experience in a Business School program.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work within a highly collaborative team, reporting to the Senior Learning Designer

  • assist with the design and implementation of sustainable technology informed approaches to pedagogical change

  • work closely with the Educational Development academic team to integrate technology and innovative pedagogical approaches into our pedagogical change programs

  • support teaching staff in the areas of online, hybrid, and interactive learning, including enhancing the use of the university’s Learning Management System and associated plugins (Canvas) and non-Canvas plugins.

  • develop, pilot, and collaborate on innovative approaches to education and learning technology integration.

About you

  • tertiary qualifications and/or relative experience in learning design, learning science or a related field

  • experience in adapting digital learning content, multimedia materials, applications, and graphics for interactive learning interfaces.

  • familiar with editing and animation tools like Adobe Creative Cloud

  • strong demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

  • experience in working with the tertiary organisation, knowledge of academic institutions, and structures of the higher education sector.

  • ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work

  • agile problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
