ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Finance in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching, research and preparing students for success in a multicultural business environment. Candidates with research interests in all areas of finance are encouraged to apply.

The duties of this full-time position are comprised of teaching, research, and service including:

  • Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including our Master of Science in Quantitative Finance (MSQF) program.

  • Conducting high-quality financial research leading to publications in recognized journals.

  • Performing appropriate departmental and college service activities.

PROFILE of the COLLEGE

This position will be housed in the Lee Business School, which is among the top 5% of business schools worldwide to hold dual AACSB accreditation for both the overall school and for the accounting programs. Home to approximately 4,000 students, including 500 graduate students and 85 faculty members, the Lee Business School offers five master’s degree programs, including an Executive MBA, and nine undergraduate degree programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. in Finance, or related field, from an AACSB-accredited college or university and an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Candidates must demonstrate potential to conduct high-quality research in their field of expertise, demonstrate potential to publish in leading academic journals, and demonstrate potential to be a high-quality teacher at undergraduate and graduate levels. ABDs will be considered, but credentials must be obtained by August 2023.

SALARY RANGE

The nine-month salary is $175,000 maximum, depending on education, qualifications, and experience. UNLV also provides Assistant Professors with support for faculty initial expenses and summer research activities.
