SUMMARY: To assist the Residence Manager in the daily operations of a residence.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Shadows new staff assigned to residence, modifies schedules to assure new hires are not working without the proper supervision and guidance. In conjunction with the Residence Manager, completes the orientation/tracking checklist with new employees. Using flexible scheduling back fills necessary direct care positions. Ensures appropriate scheduling patterns. Provides general supervision and direction to staff and residents during times that the Residence Manager is not present or is otherwise occupied. Observes, documents, and communicates with staff about any pertinent information in regards to behavior, nursing, clinical issues, etc., facilitates assessment and development of treatment goals and to ensure proper care for individuals. Give medications as prescribed by physician, per OPWDD regulations. Aids staff in administering therapeutic activities, such as physical exercises, occupational arts and crafts, and recreational games, to residents and documents progress daily. Assist Residence Manager in the development and implementation of the Individual Service Plan, including but not limited to Residential Habilitation Plans, the Level of Supervision Care and Monitoring Guides/Protective Oversight and Clinician’s Plans. Assists Residence Manager in maintaining all current medical information according to OPWDD and agency guidelines, including the ordering of medications and preparation of all medical records and reports.
Requirements:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Acts as general supervisor in the absence of the Residence Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience working with developmental disabilities. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
