Office of Instructional Resources 

The Office of Instructional Resources is a group of builders, problem-solvers, and creators. We work tirelessly behind the scenes designing, installing, and supporting the latest technology in learning spaces across the university while continually searching for the newest innovations in educational technology. We value technology that is consistent, intuitive, and effective so that your multimedia content works seamlessly in spaces all over campus.

The Opportunity:  

The UCF Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) is in need of an Audio/Visual Design assistant. This role will support Design/Documentation efforts for projects, including creating wiring/flow diagrams for A/V systems for use by OIR, other UCF departments and outside integrators. The ideal candidate will have drafting experience in AutoCad and Visio, have a basic understanding of Audio-Visual systems, and be able to work in a fast- paced, deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities:  

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and OIR. This includes staff policies for telecommuting, administrative tasks, creating and maintaining documentation, outage communication procedures, and managing customer interactions.

  • Performs tracking and reporting functions within ServiceNow.

  • Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.

  • Ensures all assigned Objectives & Key Results (OKR) and various metrics are met on an annual basis. This includes departmental and individual Service Level Agreements on tickets and assignments.

  • Attends various seminars, trainings, and conferences related to current or emerging technology. Will be given various opportunities to obtain certifications based on specific training.

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include temporary supervisory role for the subunit within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. overhead.

  • Drafting (Auto CAD and or Visio) experience.

  • Understanding of Audio-Visual systems signal flow.

  • Ability to discern audio and video quality related to AV installation projects.

  • Ability to work on active construction sites.

  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle.

Special Instructions to the Applicants: 

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license (regular license). The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
