- Description
- AVIAN FIELD ASSISTANT needed early May – end of June to study songbirds in the forests of Pennsylvania. The assistant will help with: target banding and tagging of adult cerulean warblers, radio-tracking ceruleans, measuring vegetation characteristics, entering data, and performing other field activities. They may also help with companion studies of Scarlet Tanagers and Eastern Whip-Poor-Will’s.
- Qualifications
- Strong applicants will have a passion for field work involving birds, be physically fit and capable of working in a rugged forested setting (with insects, snakes, poison ivy, etc.), and work well in teams. Previous bird capture and handling experience is preferred, and experience with radio telemetry is also a plus. Pay is $1600-2200 per month, depending on experience; housing with other technicians and field vehicles will be provided.
