Overview

San Diego Freedom Ranch is currently looking to fill a position for a Licensed or License Eligible Practitioner at our Residential Treatment Center Located in Campo. The ideal candidate has experience in Gender Responsive, Trauma Informed services, the integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner, and experience working with Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Criminal Justice and Other Special populations. This position offers you the opportunity to work with adult men, experience developing clinical skills, and experience working with diverse populations. San Diego Freedom Ranch, Inc. was established in 1972 as a nonprofit, 501 (c) (3), Alcohol and Drug Residential Treatment facility. Led by a highly trained staff and an active and experienced board of directors. We offer gender responsive, trauma informed, person-centered services and evidence based interventions. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Evidence Based Practices and the 12 Steps, We envision the Freedom Ranch as a leader in the alcohol and drug treatment community, utilizing all feasible resources in providing treatment and recovery services to the maximum number of alcoholics and drug addicts possible. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and sober environment offering a program of recovery through which alcoholics and drug addicts can achieve and maintain sobriety– and adopt “A new life through love and service.”

Key Responsibilities

Facilitates individual counseling sessions with each caseload client. Provides learning experience opportunities and offers clinical support to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. Pro-actively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status.

Facilitates group and individual counseling sessions and community meetings and teaches classes on various treatment-related topics. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. Documents client updates and incidents in the facility log daily. Attends required training’s and meetings. Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events. May work weekends and holidays as needed.

Collaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client. Assist SUD Counselors in documentation of Medical Necessity and Diagnoses as needed. Complete Intakes and ASAM Assesments.

Assist in management of client medications, including psychotropic medications, including documentation, secure storage, counting and destruction according to policy.

Qualifications

  • ASW, AMFT, APCC or License through California Board of Behavoiral Sciences
  • Experience in a residential treatment setting a plus
  • Must be up to date on AMFT/ASW/APCC requirements
  • Demonstrate an understanding of addiction, homelessness, trauma, PTSD, and other co-occurring disorders.
  • Must have respect for those supervised as well as clients and staff
  • Ability to work within a diverse population and be part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent experience with, and understanding of addiction issues and how these relate to psychotherapy
  • Must support 12-step principles and practices and be familiar with local 12-step resources
  • Ability to be a team player, while also maintaining professional integrity and standards

KnowledgeRequired: Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook, and internet applications
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are imperative
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Action oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
