Position Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Research Integrity, this position is independently responsible for administratively supporting a myriad of processes across the Office for Academic and Research Integrity (ARI), including support of the Harvard Medical School (HMS) Standing Committee on Faculty Conduct and faculty serving on ad hoc panels investigating allegations of research misconduct against members or former members of the HMS academic community. As part of this role, the Case Manager will work closely with and support the Assistant Director, Program Manager and other members of the integrity team to organize, prepare and distribute voluminous materials for faculty panel meetings, handle highly confidential and sensitive information in compliance with federal law and institutional policy, and support panel members with secure access to those materials. This position will be responsible for the scheduling of panel meetings, tracking case deadlines and coordinating intake of new matters, preparing agendas for weekly team meetings, and coordinating all transcript production and proofing with vendor. The Case Manager will support the research integrity team in educational and training outreach and help to coordinate and administratively support live sessions on an as needed basis.

This position will also be responsible for maintaining ARI webpages on Academic Integrity and for content development, supporting and assisting in the selection and adoption of software to further support streamlined case management, and acting as liaison between ARI, IT colleagues and vendor in implementation processes.

This position will also provide, as needed, case management support to the Professional Integrity team with regard to allegations under the Harvard University Non-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying Policies.

Basic Qualifications

5 years of related experience in administrative, program or project coordination. Education beyond high school may count toward experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with particular ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
  • Proven project and/or program management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exhibit sound judgment and to handle complex and highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency using a variety of computer software and systems.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • An outstanding ability for follow through on given tasks and in the coordination and maintenance of assigned responsibilities.

Work Format Details

This position is based in Boston, but the work may be done primarily remote. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
