Chief Operating Officer

Save the Redwoods League seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to play a pivotal role in driving sustainable organizational operations and growth and operationalizing the League’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Save the Redwoods League accelerates the pace and scale of redwood conservation by acquiring and stewarding a mosaic of reserve land, restoration forests, and working forests. We ensure transformational experiences for all by increasing access and improving parks and programs in the redwood range. Restoration forests and a landscape of responsibly managed working forests are critical investments in forest health and economic and community sustainability. Our vision is to double the portion of the remaining redwood forest that is protected as reserves to maximize the climate resilience, biodiversity, tribal engagement, and community benefit of this globally unique ecosystem.

The League is embarking on a Centennial Vision for Redwoods Conservation that will double the size of the protected redwood forests, put young forests on the path to becoming old-growth stands, and connect people to these magical places through magnificent parks. Realizing this vision will require everyone who loves the redwoods to get behind this ambitious effort. 

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide critical leadership as the League embarks on a new chapter and thoughtfully carry the organization through a period of change and transformation. The COO will manage the day-to-day internal operations of the organization, strengthen our commitment to and implementation of a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy, and operationalize best practices as the organization grows in impact and size.
