Consistent with the vision/ mission of Oakland Community Health Network and the goals of the Team, the Co-op Student will:
- Provide support to department initiatives as described by the department leader.
- Produce routine documents and reports as needed.
- Proofread materials for inaccuracies and errors. Makes corrections or returns to the appropriate person to make corrections.
- File materials according to the subject matter, alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically.
- Make copies of departmental files, records, and correspondence.
- Answer routine inquiries by phone or in person.
- Releases departmental information according to standardized departmental procedures. Refers unusual requests to supervisor.
- May be responsible for meeting coordination and assisting in facilitation.
- Actual job functions will vary based on team assignment
For the Quality and Regulatory Compliance Team:
- Using proprietary software, conducts federal and state sanction exclusion checks monthly
- Monitoring and tracking of credentialing file review dates.
- Tracking receipt of Primary Source Verification documents from the Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO).
- Assists with the preparation of files for committee approval.
- Prepares documentation and notification letters on credentialing decisions.
- Assist providers/practitioners with any questions they may have regarding the credentialing process as they arise pertaining to the CVO process.
- Update staff profiles in the OCHN electronic medical record system, ODIN.
- Assist staff with preparing NCQA accreditation readiness by conducting research, preparing reports, and interacting/coordinating with staff to obtain information.
- Conducts special projects, research studies, and other analytic duties as directed by the supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.

Current enrollment in an accredited college/university bachelor’s or master’s degree program, pursuing a degree in a human service, policy management or business related field
Competences/Skills
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Powerpoint.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
- Highly effective interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to maintain tact and discretion during interactions with management, staff, and community members.
In addition, the following are preferred competencies:
- Project management skills
- Experience in the public mental health care system
- Ability to prepare reports based on research and analysis completed.

Special Information (Travel Required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, on so on)
- Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required off-site meetings
- May be required to be available for Board meetings and other required events which may occur outside of standard office hours.
