Job Summary The Coordinator for Business Development will serve the Division in building strategic corporate partnerships and training initiatives to grow the Division of Enterprise Development’s (DED) brand locally and nationally. This position manages the entire process from identification of a lead, to needs analysis, the creation of proposals, and closing the deal. The coordinator will source opportunities and build relationships with corporate mid-sized entities, business chambers, and economic development commissions with the goal of securing virtual, in-person, and/or online corporate training contracts. The coordinator will maintain metrics on frequency of communication and have frequent communication with DED management and other DED stakeholders to ensure the achievement of DED corporate services goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build relationships and partnerships with area corporations, workforce boards, chamber of commerce’s, and economic development boards to source training opportunities to meet unit performance metrics. Supports management of large-scale industry collaborations and agreements including overseeing deliverables and maintaining partnerships.
  • Coordinate projects, training plans, grants, and facilitate contracts for DED Corporate Services, including classroom/online training and curriculum development. Develop and effectively generate professional sales proposals, dashboard reports, and other key presentational material to help produce the desired client-centric outcomes/solutions. Manage training schedules, grants, contracts, and locations for corporate contract courses.
  • Develop programming for business development. Hire, manage and schedule instructors and subject matter experts for corporate services contracts, grants, and services.
  • Assist with marketing and sales plan development and implementation to expand the corporate services program in the local, national, and international markets.
  • Facilitate effective communication with management, instructors, clients, training sites and division staff on strategies to improve learning and corporate course delivery and sourcing.
  • Responsible for corporate services catalog development, marketing, editing and distribution.
  • Support program goals by compiling/analyzing financial data (e.g. revenue and expense tracking) and metric reporting. Interpret data and generate reports.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant professional sales experience with demonstrated results. Ability to facilitate effective meetings and make compelling sales presentations. Ability to manage tasks and keep the work organized. Two years (2) years of corporate development, program coordination, project management, or the equivalent experience. Ability to work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously and to meet various concurrent deadlines.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in higher education.
  • 3 + years’ experience in corporate training and development.
  • 2+ years of marketing, sales, grant or workforce development experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, cloud applications, Adobe products, and marketing experience.

Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Criminal background check conducted. Area travel required to attend meeting, events, and conventions.
