Job Description Summary:
The Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of the KU Center for Telemedicine & Telehealth (KUCTT). The primary function of this position is to create, enhance and coordinate marketing campaigns to grow and maintain KUCTT and Project ECHO’s client base. This position serves as a key role in coordinating our digital marketing efforts by developing strategic communications and digital media content on behalf of KUCTT and Project ECHO. This position also plays a key role in planning, facilitating, and implementing strategies to solicit, recruit and retain participation in Project ECHO.
Responsible for analyzing and tracking marketing efforts, evaluating effectiveness, and making recommendations for future plans/campaigns for KUCTT and Project ECHO. Coordinator will manage and/or assist with various KUCTT/Project ECHO activities and initiatives including the KUMC Project ECHO newsletter and educational event marketing and promotion. Coordinator will manage social media outlets and contribute to maintenance of the KUCTT and Project ECHO website
This position has the potential to work in-office or a combination of in-office and remotely.
Anticipated hiring range: $50,000 – $55,000.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Multi-Media Design, Communications, or related field or equivalent years of experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-to-year basis.

Work Experience:
One year experience in marketing or communications with some combination of digital, mobile, web, social media strategy, digital marketing, etc.

Skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling and marketing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage competing and shifting priorities.
  • Experience with creative writing, content creation, and editing.  Experience in creating and distributing digital emails. 
  • Experience creating marketing campaigns, web site management, database management, and event promotions.
  • High interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to relate well with others and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to travel to promotional events/conferences as needed (e.g., valid driver’s license and dependable transportation). 

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Experience in graphic design concepts and software including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with email marketing systems.
  • Demonstrated experience producing engaging content for social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Experience working with a web content management system, with knowledge of content best practices and accessibility.
  • Experience exhibiting and event planning.
  • Experience in healthcare field.


Job Duties Outlined:

  • Participates in the development of the strategic marketing plan for KUCTT and Project ECHO.  Creates and coordinates marketing plan and materials to build a client base for all KUCTT services.  Fosters strong relationships with current clients. 
  • Manages the client database and tracks service usage across KUCTT/Project ECHO.
  • Writes short articles to promote KUCTT and Project ECHO initiatives and success stories, including Provider Spotlights and news features.
  • Promotes and participates in special projects/events for KUCTT/Project ECHO and/or state-wide initiatives as directed.  Participates in virtual or in-person events as KUCTT representative.
  • Coordinates and manages digital marketing efforts for KUCTT and the Institute for Community Engagement.
  • Creates, posts, manages, and provides analytics for social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Reviews web sites within the Institute of Community Engagement and makes recommendations for enhancement and optimal usability.  Assists in editing and serves as liaison with web development team.
  • Collaborates with the Director to formulate and execute promotion plans for events and programming. Stay informed of trends in the fields of advancement and communications.
  • Creates, distributes, and tracks effectiveness of digital email campaigns.
  • Attends meetings and conferences as appropriate. Assists in developing presentation topics for submission to present at hosted, local and/or national conferences/workshops.
  • Provides support to other staff.  Assists in preparing budget for area of responsibility.
