EU Food Safety & Quality Manager

The EUROPEAN COCOA ASSOCIATION (ECA)
is recruiting an EU Food Safety & Quality Manager (full-time)
Responsibilities
1. In charge of the ECA Working Groups on “Pesticides & Contaminants”, “Quality & Productivity” and the “Joint Research Fund”
  • Monitoring/reporting on relevant regulatory food safety developments at EU and international levels
  • Drafting position papers, statements
  • Liaising with key stakeholders (EU Institutions, EFSA), and international organizations (FAO, ICCO)
  • Coordinating with the research community on matters of interest to the ECA membership
  • Analyze and disseminate information on cocoa related food safety and quality topics
  • Organize and follow-up of WGs meetings and conference calls
  • Coordinating and supervising the development of research projects
2. Information and Communication
  • Drafting monthly newsletters and briefings on Food Safety, Quality & Productivity
  • Presenting on behalf of the Association to external audiences
  • Assisting in organizing events gathering industry representatives and key supply-chain partners
Key requirements
  • Advanced university degree in Food Law, Food Science, Toxicology, or similar, combined with knowledge on EU Affairs
  • Solid experience (minimum 2/3 years) in EU food safety policy preferably within an EU Trade association or the EU institutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistics is an asset
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise varied tasks in a small team, and to work independently
  • Availability to travel occasionally within Europe

  • Contract: Full-time one-year contract with the possibility of renewal
