Finance and Operations Officer-South Iraq

We are looking for an experienced Finance & Operations Officer to join the Eurasia and North Africa team, with an initial focus on supporting our programmes in South Iraq. The Finance & Operations Officer will provide finance, operational, administrative, and coordination support to Tearfund’s programming in Iraq, under the line management of the Iraq Finance Manager.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience & Qualifications

• A degree and/or equivalent qualification in Finance, Admin, or Logistics
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within an INGO
• Experience in accounting, treasury management, cashbooks, petty cash, and payroll
• Experience working with finance, admin, and HR policies and procedures
• Experience in procurement and logistics functions
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at different levels, including government authorities
• Experience in security awareness, risk analysis, and recommending appropriate actions
• Good experience using software and online systems

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, databases, and advanced Excel
• Fluent in spoken and written Arabic
• Good spoken and written English
• Understanding and sensitivity to cross-cultural environments
• Flexible and adaptable in changing environments
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Integrity and ability to represent Tearfund professionally

Please note: This role will be based in Basra, Iraq. Applicants must possess a valid passport/visa stating the right to live and work in Iraq.
