Job Description
This position will provide an opportunity to gain experience in basic office operations and business environment, with heavier experience in accounting and finance. This position will perform various clerical and accounting duties and serve as the receptionist as needed.
This position is an on-campus only position you must be willing and able to work on-campus in an office. This position cannot be done remotely.
Responsibilities

Answering phones, taking messages, transferring calls and handling office reception of guests and the incoming mail

Processing day to day financial transactions and preparing financial reports as directed
-
Recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and assisting with ad-hoc requests as directed by the Research & Innovation Fiscal Officer to assist with division needs

Logging-in, routing, copying, scanning and delivering various documents that come through Research & Innovation
-
Reconciliation of department purchasing and travel
-
Creating and maintaining basic Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
-
Other duties of this nature as assigned
Required Qualifications
-
Candidate must be a graduate student in a Master’s program at UNR
-
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree-granting program and be in good academic standing
-
The student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and must be continuously enrolled in at least 6 graduate level credits (600-700) throughout the duration of the assistantship
-
This position requires good communication skills, the ability to follow direction, adaptive learning capabilities and maintaining confidentiality

The individual must be detail oriented, organized, efficient, and reliable

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Experience working in a professional office environment

Candidates with basic accounting or financial experience from at least one business-related class are encouraged to apply
