Our Green Doctor programme offers home visits and remote support to provide advice and
practical small measures to tackle fuel poverty issues and increase energy efficiency for
vulnerable residents living in deprived communities across Kettering and surrounding areas of

As our Green Doctor Home Energy Advisor, you will 

  • Deliver face-to-face and remote home energy assessments in homes of vulnerable residents
    including low-income elderly, disabled and families with young children.
  • Install basic technical measures within the home as necessary, complete and record all
    assessment details on the Salesforce system on tablet, ensuring accurate and detailed records
    are taken.
  • Advocate and liaise for householders with energy companies, Anglian Water and the gas and
    electric network providers to ensure customers receive the best possible deal for their
  • Complete grant applications to trust funds to assist householders in paying for energy debt
    and other household needs.
  • Where required assist in booking in appointments for new visits and general promotion of
    the project, including assisting at events and workshops in the community.


You will have strong communication skills together with a passion for helping vulnerable people
across multiple demographics. You must have a thorough knowledge of energy efficiency to
provide bespoke and tailored energy advice to our clients. Practical experience in basis DIY,
great interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure, are essential attributes
for the role. You must be able to travel to attend trust offices and home visits as required. 

The ideal candidate will be qualified and registered to delivery Energy Performance
Certificates, hold a City and Guilds Level 2 (6176) award in Energy Awareness, or a National
Vocational Qualification Level 3 (6049-03) Provide Energy Efficiency Services issued by the
Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. These qualifications are desirable rather than
essential, as full training will be given. 

Appointment to this role is subject to an enhanced records check through the Disclosure and
Barring Service (DBS)
