Full Time (35 hours per week)
Edinburgh or Inverness (hybrid of home and office working)

Changeworks is offering an exciting opportunity for a suitable individual to lead our
Consultancy team and support our strategy of accelerating the decarbonisation of Scotland’s
homes.

As Head of Consultancy, you will provide direction, leadership and support, enabling excellent
service delivery. You will be key to driving income generation and supporting client account
management and be responsible for the development and delivery of consultancy capabilities. You
will work in partnership with other Changeworks teams to pilot and develop new services to meet
client needs, identify prospects and build relationships. In this role, you will enhance the
reputation of Changeworks as a leader in our field, broadening the reach and impact of the
team, whilst maximising the value and accessibility of work produced both internally and
externally.

This Head of Consultancy role will lead a diverse team that delivers innovative, high-quality
consultancy services, including data analysis, research, strategy and programme development,
and monitoring and evaluation. This busy and growing team works across the sustainability
agenda for internal and external clients and has a particular specialism related to energy
efficiency, heat decarbonisation and renewables in the built environment, fuel poverty and
pro-environmental behaviour change.

As a Senior Manager, you will play an active role in the strategic management of Changeworks.
Your work will feed into several Changeworks strategic objectives and will play a significant
role in informing a quality approach to accelerating the decarbonisation of homes across
Scotland.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions
from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant
increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and
external organisations in this area. You will be joining Changeworks at a very exciting time as
we continue to drive forward our strategy to help us scale our work and achieve our ambitious
goal of decarbonising homes across Scotland.

About you

You will have worked in a leadership role previously and have experience in project management,
business development and leading transformational change. You will have an excellent
understanding of building energy efficiency retrofit, relevant Scottish and UK Government
policy and, ideally, both the social and technical issues related to decarbonisation.

You will be able to draw on a range of experience that will convince us that you can take a
lead and continue our development and growth pathway in this area. You will have a commitment
and passion for this field, be organised and proactive, as well as having a creative streak
that will allow you to identify innovative solutions, work round problems, identify new areas
of work, and promote and disseminate our work. The ability to effectively manage staff, deal
with multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a supportive team environment is essential.

About us

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation
(something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of
the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would
recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions
from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant
increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and
external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency
retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious
objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs
talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full
training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an
excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
