The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking to recruit a Human Resources Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a career HR professional to manage a dynamic team providing an effective, professional, advisory and administrative service to the whole department and its research centres, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures in line with UK employment legislation.

The HR manager will be responsible for both operational and strategic people management in ODID, providing high level HR support on a range of issues across the department and managing the ODID HR Team. They will work closely with the Head of Administration and Finance (HAF), the Head of Department (HoD) and other senior staff members on less straightforward employee matters, strategically driven activities, and in planning and implementing policies which contribute to the development of the department and its employees.

The successful candidate will be qualified to CIPD graduate level or above, or have equivalent experience. They will have demonstrable sound judgement in HR matters with detailed knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and UKVI regulations with an ability to evaluate risk. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and constructive working relationships at all levels of the department, division, and university, and to influence decisions, including at senior management level. Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to write excellent English, clearly and informatively, and to explain HR compliance requirements to non-specialists, as well as good listening skills, are essential to this role.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
