General Purpose of the Position

The logistic assistant and driver supports the JRS Sharya Projects by ensuring proper upkeep and regular maintenance of workspaces and JRS offices, houses and caravans as well as the availability of necessary supplies. He drives JRS Staff and visitors across the KRI and GOI as requested by the logistic coordinator and JRS Country Office Manager.


Works closely with: Logistic Coordinator in Sharya Project directors of Sharya and Country Office Manager in CO.

Main Responsibilities of the Position


A) General

  1. Serve the staff base, so that everyone may work in a proper and friendly environment;
  2. Maintain all spaces, equipment, furniture, and vehicles and carry out necessary repairs promptly;
  3. Ensure hygiene and cleanliness of shared facilities and equipment;
  4. Open and available to receive requests from staff and report them to the Logistic Coordinator so that they can be taken into consideration

B) Procurement 

  1. Submit and follow up on purchase requests for the projects,
  2. Assist in identifying suppliers, vendors, tradespersons and casual workers;
  3. Obtain quotations and other documents as requested by the Logistic Coordinator & Project Director.
  4. Collect and deliver supplies as necessary;
  5. Ensure that all deliveries received match orders and are damage free;
  6. Maintain proper filling of all documents (hard and soft), procurement documents, and vouchers in collaboration with the Logistic Coordinator.

C) Storage and Warehouse 

  1. Maintain up-to-date assets lists for Sharya Projects.
  2. Ensure that storage spaces are always in order and clean;
  3. Ensure that goods are stored in appropriate conditions;
  4. Work with daily workers for the organisation and upkeep and maintenance of warehouse/storage spaces and the transportation of goods.

D) Driver

  1. Drive staff, beneficiaries and visitors across the KRI and Federal Iraq as requested by the Logistics Coordinator and Project Director, make sure that we have all the documents required if necessary (access-letter);
  2. Has the ability to drive mini-van & Hi-Lux;
  3. Transport small volume of goods and supplies, ensuring damage free and complete delivery;
  4. Respect driving rules in accordance with international standards and JRS Regulations in order to ensure safety for all;
  5. Ensure the regular servicing and upkeep of the cars that using.



Undertakes any other duties as assigned by the Country Director that are within the ambit of the position.






Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Compassion and commitment for refugees and other displaced persons;
  • Energetic, hard-working, honest and self-motivated person;
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or equivalent;
  • At least 1 year of experience in procurement;
  • Previous experience with NGO is an asset;
  • Trustworthy, good listener, creative, flexible, detail oriented, and can maintain confidentiality;
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English. Kurdish is an asset;
  • Computer literate : Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Share Point;
  • Strong ability to work independently, organise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to share the difficulties so that we may be able to share the work better;
  • Valid driving licence, with at least 3 years’ driving experience
