The University is about to commence a new exciting phase of our ongoing Estate Strategy, and we are seeking to recruit a proactive and customer-focussed Maintenance Supervisor to work on our Residential Accommodation.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager (Buildings), you will be responsible for providing a responsive maintenance service for the University which will contribute to the care, quality, and upkeep of the University estate. Your overarching aim will be to develop and maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive and sustainable environment for all who study, work or live in UCLan, including students, staff, visitors and partners – contributing to the attraction, recruitment and retention of students and staff.
You will have ideally served a trade apprenticeship and be qualified to ONC (or Ofqual equivalent) in a construction discipline and IOSH Managing Safely standard. You will have experience of managing and supervising contractors and internal staff responding to maintenance faults received via the Estates Helpdesk. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising larger and more complex maintenance works via approved contractors using your extensive technical & H&S knowledge and experience.
You will also assist in managing projects to improve the estate and the student experience, including developing specifications, budgets, and programmes of work.
You will be very organised and flexible in your approach to work; having the ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Estates Services team, and able to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet the business need.
