Under the direction of the Associate Director of Media and Communications you will be responsible for promoting and reporting on the University as a bold, young, up-and-coming university on an ambitious path as outlined in our Strategic Plan, Connected.

Your role will involve daily engagement with local, national and international media, pitching to media, writing for media, setting up and managing media opportunities, and reporting on the University’s media outcomes as outlined in the University’s Communications Strategy. In addition, as a member of the Media and Communications Team, you will contribute to the development of content for the  University’s owned content and social media channels.

This is a unique opportunity to work within an internal Media and Communications team and add value by utilising your accomplished communication skills to contribute to strategy and media engagement. You will be supported to do your best work in a collaborative, dynamic and engaging team environment.

To be successful, you will demonstrate excellent written ability, have strong insight into media engagement and the news cycle as well as the confidence to engage and manage key academic and professional stakeholders in order to drive the success of the University’s Media and Communications team’s strategic objectives.

We would be interested in receiving applications from candidates that have graduated with a degree in Journalism, Communications or similar and have two to three years working experience.
