Overview

Mental Health Adviser – 1 FTE Post (Indefinite contract)

Mental Health Adviser – 1 FTE Post (1-year fixed term maternity cover)

About the Roles

We are looking to recruit 2 x mental health advisers who have significant training and clinical experience to provide advice, guidance and support to students with diagnosed and suspected mental health difficulties. To offer, in tandem with the Senior Mental Health Adviser and Head of the Service and other staff within Advice and Counselling, mental health assessments and interventions that support students’ mental health.

About You

Applicants must have an appropriate clinical qualification such a psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, or social work and have significant experience of providing short-term mental health support to individuals within an institutional setting and who are used to working with clients from diverse backgrounds and social groups, and preferably with experience of working with young adults.

About the Department

The Advice and Counselling Service is a multidisciplinary student support service offering counselling and psychological support, mental health advice, psychiatry clinics, welfare advice, financial advice and immigration advice and a Sexual Assault and Harassment Adviser.

The posts are based at the Mile End Campus in London.  One is offered as a full time, permanent appointment and the other is offered as a full time, 12 month maternity cover appointment. Expected start dates are as soon as possible after interview. The salary will be in the range of £40,386 – £47,414 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
