About the Role

The Night Supervisor Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Recovery & Addiction Programs Recovery Care Workers (RCW). Supervises, leads and supports staff. Develops, implements, and evaluates plans and programs. Ensures program standards, guidelines and policies of the organization are maintained.

The incumbent ensures that RCW staff deliver service in a professional manner in accordance with the organization’s philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. Provides and/or facilitates staff access to training that promotes their ability to deliver safe and effective support and supervision to participants within their scope of practice. Develops, adjusts and delivers support for the clinical needs of reporting staff as well as provides direction and guidance on the technical requirements. This may include: cleaning and housekeeping/WHMIS.

This position works a rotation that includes evening shifts and night shifts and is expected to be mobile working across all 24-7 sites providing support and backfill as required. On-call hours as well as evening and weekend work are applicable to this position with associated remuneration

Position: Full Time 40 Hours per week

Compensation: $31.18 – 36.28 per hour plus applicable shift premiums

• Evening shift premium – additional $3.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr
• Weekend shift premium – additional $2.00 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
• Shift premiums compound- additional $5.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr on 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday

Indirect Compensation

• Extended Health and Dental benefits after the 3 month probationary period
• 9.31% Pension matching after the 3 month probationary period
• 3 weeks vacation pay which increases with length of service

Qualifications

Education and experience

• Degree in social work, psychology or other related field.
• Three years of experience working with addiction and mental health, preferably in a residential setting.
• Previous supervisory experience

Job Skills & Abilities

• Well developed interpersonal, counselling, oral and written skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills
• Proficient knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with program team, social workers, and other community professionals.
• Good time management skills.

Other Requirements

• Criminal record check in accordance with agency policy.
• Medical clearance and First Aid certificate
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination or exemption required
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
