Scope of Position

The Department of Mammography Services provides ambulatory services for the diagnosis of breast cancer.  Screening Mammography is available at JamesCare at Easton Town Center, Care Point Lewis Center, Care Point Gahanna, Stoneridge Dublin and one mobile mammography unit that travels throughout central Ohio.  Screening and diagnostic mammography are also available at the James Cancer Hospital, Babe Zaharias Center.  The Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center is a comprehensive breast center offering mammograms, ultrasound, breast biopsies and stereotactic procedures.  Hours of operation vary.

Position Summary

The Office Associate is responsible for arranging the necessary testing, consultation and information gathering to facilitate achievement of positive patient care outcomes.  The Office Associate involves the patient in directing his/her plan of care in a confidential, efficient, cost effective, and customer-focused manner.  The Office Associate works as a team with other hospital disciplines to assure timely, accurate and customer-satisfied outcomes are achieved.  This position is specifically designed to support the mobile program with a driver who can drive the mobile van to and from our multiple client list spanning central Ohio and the outlying counties.  The Office Associate with the mobile will register patients at the time of service and support the mobile staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications  

H.S. Diploma.  Strong reading, writing and simple math skills required.  Previous healthcare or service oriented field experience in an Ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.  Customer service experience, and effective communication skills. Skill in using appropriate office automation technology.  Ability to work with a number of variables at one time, communicate and work in a diverse population of customers and colleagues, assess questions and give appropriate information and/or referral, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Current Ohio drivers license.  Current Ohio CDL operator’s license (or acquire within four  months of date of hire).  Training will be provided by the department.
