Control Risks



The Patrols Team Leader will be responsible for conducting all patrol activity in support of JGC security operations, reporting directly to the Patrol Coordinator. The Patrols Team Leader will be expected to lead local Iraqi patrol team members, ensuring discipline and high standards of operational performance, whilst ensuring service delivery meets with JGC standards.

Role tasks and responsibilities


  • Conduct both foot and mobile patrols, ensuring site security and integrity of JGC assets.
  • Responsible for the recording and logging of both personnel and vehicles, entering and exiting specified areas of security control.
  • Oversee the searching of persons and vehicles at key entry control points.
  • Reporting of all security and emergency related incidents, to the Patrols Coordinator.
  • Record, and maintain all patrol logs.
  • Understand and ensure, personnel on site have the correct access authorisation for each specified security control area.
  • Ensure vehicles on site retain correct and in-date vehicle passes.
  • Provide armed response to perimeter or internal security breaches.
  • Responsible for the security of all weapons and equipment individually issued.
  • Act as additional QRF team leader if required.
  • Conduct daily equipment serviceability checks.
  • Provide daily briefings to patrol team members.
  • To provide additional assistance during periods of civil disturbance, or protests at the site.
  • Assist with regular training, and testing of emergency response procedures.

Personnel Management

  • To actively supervise the performance of local national patrol team members.
  • To ensure all Control Risks’ patrol team members understanding of, and adherence to Control Risks’ SOPs.
  • To ensure appropriate behaviour, approach and discipline is maintained along with adherence to Control Risks’ ethical standards.
  • To ensure patrol team personnel are aware of and adherence to JGC & Control Risks HSE policies.


  • Maintain equipment support standards across the project in accordance with Equipment Support Policy.

Knowledge and experience


  • The Patrol Team Leader must satisfy the CR Vetting procedures and have attended and passed the Control Risks Induction Course.
  • Previous military or police experience.


  • Preferable experience working within a Hostile Environment.
  • Experience managing Iraqi local nationals.
  • Basic first aid course.

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Competent English language ability, including both written and oral English skills.
