The Root Center is a private, non-profit, behavioral healthcare organization providing mental health and substance use treatment, prevention, community health services, and research across the state of CT with 10 current sites. We are a financially strong organization that continues to grow as we expand our services to the community. We treat over 5,500 patients daily within our clinics. Accredited by CARF for its high standards of care, the Root Center seeks out passionate and talented individuals to join its staff and are searching for a Physician to join our team.

Position Summary

This is an on-site position in Hartford, CT; occasional travel to other sites may be necessary.

· Completes the initial and annual medical examinations

· Provides direct clinical services to patients, including on-going medical evaluation, assessment and treatment.

· Participates in case conferences/consultations, as required.

· Works closely with supervisors and other members of the team in order to assess overall progress of patients.

· Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut; specialty training and certification in internal medicine or psychiatry is preferred. Also desirable is some background, association or experience with problems of addiction and/ or community medicine; a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general life style, emotional and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction.
