To support our mandate HBA Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking a Private Enterprise Manager.

As a member of our Management Team and reporting to the partners, the Private Enterprise Manager will participate in overseeing all aspects of a file from start to finish, including:

• engagement planning
• overseeing and occasionally performing fieldwork
• reviewing work done by junior staff
• presenting client deliverables; and
• advising clients on critical business decisions

What will it take to succeed in the role?

Your education background includes a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with at least three years of experience in a public accounting environment, primarily dealing with ASPE and Canadian income taxes. You will have experience using CaseWare for compilation and review engagements, as well as tax experience including any combination of HST, trust, corporate and personal income tax.

Personally, you have a high level of integrity, initiative and interpersonal savvy to build solid and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. As a member of the firm’s Management Team, you also bring proven leadership abilities and skills, including mentoring, coaching, and motivating professional staff.

Our clients are varied, and so are their needs. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with owner-managed businesses
• Experience supervising and reviewing work prepared by junior staff
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience in reporting from QuickBooks, Sage and/or cloud accounting software such as QBO, Wave or Xero
• Experience with Jazzit is considered an asset
• Willingness to learn other applications
