UNT’s Department of Marketing
The department is diverse and features 37 members. Specifically, the department consists of twenty-seven instructors (seven Adjunct Professors, two Lecturers, one Senior Lecturer, one Principal Lecturer, one Clinical Assistant Professor, one Clinical Associate Professor, four Assistant Professors, one Associate Professor, and nine Professors) and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees with a concentration in marketing. Faculty members are expected to publish in leading journals in the field of marketing (e.g., Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Marketing Science, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal and other allied journals) and engage in leading research that supports UNT’s status as a Tier One research university. As such, we offer an environment that supports faculty research, teaching and laboratories in behavioral research and modeling and simulation.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary The Department of Marketing at the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business invites applications for the G. Brint Ryan Endowed Chair in Marketing.
The Position
The appointee is expected to have an internationally recognized record of research and scholarship in the area of marketing (strategy and/or consumer behavior), as evidenced by publications in top-tier FT-50 and UTD list of journals, citations, established research networks, editorial review boards, and presentations at national and international conferences.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct and collaborate on high quality research leading to publications in top-tier journals (e.g., FT-50, UTD list etc.).
  • Develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate (master’s and doctoral) levels that match the appointee’s areas of expertise with the department’s areas of need.
  • Serve as a faculty role model who encourages, mentors, and collaborates with colleagues and students.
  • Participate in conferences and workshops to maintain currency in research and in the classroom.
  • Engage in service activities within the university and the profession.
  • Provide thought leadership and share insights through engagement with diverse groups including faculty, students, alumni, industry professionals, and other external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A doctorate in marketing or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution.
  • Status as academically qualified, under both SACS and AACSB standards, to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Distinguished record of research, teaching and service in marketing.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor doctoral students in marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A doctorate in marketing or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution.
  • Status as academically qualified, under both SACS and AACSB standards, to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
