Join Cambridge Carbon Footprint as our new Project Officer and empower individuals and
communities to take climate action!
About the role
Cambridge Carbon Footprint (CCF) is seeking a proactive and creative Project Officer to drive
our outreach efforts and support our programmes. As Project Officer, you’ll play a key role in
coordinating and delivering outreach activities, developing resources, and fostering the growth
of our volunteer team. Your work will directly contribute to expanding our community engagement
and ensuring the success of our projects, such as our community clothes swap and Imaginarium
programmes.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with CCF’s trustees, staff, and volunteers, building
strong internal and external partnerships to maximise our impact. You’ll also be involved in
recruiting and developing volunteers, managing resources like the Cambridge Climate Map, and
assisting in the delivery of events and projects.
Our ideal candidate
We’re looking for a flexible, self-motivated individual with a passion for community-led
climate action. You should feel comfortable delivering outreach or educational stalls and
talks, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and organising events. Strong communication and
organisational skills are essential, as is knowledge of climate change and carbon reduction and
the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in the environmental or
charity sector is a plus, but most importantly, you should be eager to contribute to a small,
dynamic team making a tangible difference to tackling climate change.
About us
For over 15 years, Cambridge Carbon Footprint has been at the forefront of inspiring and
empowering individuals and communities to take action on climate change. We pride ourselves on
being approachable and non-judgmental, empowering individuals and communities by giving them
agency and voice, and providing the tools and support needed for effective climate action. We
are solutions-focused, embracing evidence-based and innovative practices that are practical and
effective in making real change.
Everyone is welcome at Cambridge Carbon Footprint. Our volunteers and staff are amazing – they
inspire great ideas, drive new plans forward, and help make Cambridgeshire a better and more
sustainable place to live and work. By recruiting and retaining a diverse mix of colleagues who
are representative of the diversity in our local community, we are better placed to build our
vision for sustainable, low-carbon communities. We value belonging and community and are
committed to supporting one another to contribute effectively to local climate solutions.
