RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The Person-Centered Health Informatics (PCHI) Lab at McGill University is seeking applications for a research assistant position, under the supervision of Dr. Sara Ahmed. Research in the PCHI Lab focuses on digital health and using data for rapid cycles of learning and improvement in rehabilitation care. Ongoing studies are exploring topics such as clinical trials to evaluate digital health solutions to improve patient and health system outcomes, and the application of patient reported outcomes to improve patient and provider communication.

General Duties
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent:
• Work with the principal investigators to design and conduct projects focused on the implementation of evidence-based interventions to improve surgical outcomes in routine clinical practice,
• Liaise with external collaborators,
• Engage in administrative duties related to projects,
• Assist with reports, manuscripts, and grant applications.

Education / Experience

Education: Master’s Degree
Field of Study: occupational therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology, psychology, social work, public health or another relevant field of health and social sciences

Work Experience: 0 to 6 months

Professional Membership: ☐ Yes ☒ No

Other Requirements:
• Bilingual (written and spoken English & French),
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with several people on a variety of projects,
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook,
• Have a marked interest for interventions in digital health, rehabilitation, clinical decision making,
• Have previous experience in research,
• Able to work independently and as part of a team,
• Flexible to meet potential participants in the study and work with clinical and patient partners.

Additional information

Status: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: $47,320.00 – $87,887.80, commensurate with education & work experience
Work Shift: Monday – Friday, from 9 to 5
Work Site: Hybrid – depending on the project needs
