All over the world girls are at risk because of their young age and their gender. They are at risk of being denied the opportunity to access a secondary education, to gain the skills and training they need to work and to exercise control over their sexual and reproductive health. They are at risk of being married before the age of 18. They are at risk of violence and harassment from men and boys in every space they occupy, including their home, their school, their refugee camp and their city.

The scope of role

Internally, this position holder will hold continuous communication with the Programme Leads, Advisors, Specialists, Project Managers, Divisional Managers and other Departmental Heads at the central and Divisional level for collecting research and evaluation (R&E) agendas, consultation for designing studies, sharing study findings and recommendations, support to develop management responses, and gathering learning for wider internal sharing.

External communications requirement involves different national and international research organisations, Universities, various research networks and national and international NGOs.

In accordance with Plan International’s Ethical MERL Framework and Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy and the Data Privacy Policy, the organisation is committed to ensure that the rights of the children, adolescents and youth who are participating in the researches and evaluations are respected and protected. Therefore the position holder should be proactive in ensuring all ethical issues including ethical review in line with that throughout the research activities.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a passionate team member who has minimum 5 years of proven experience of development research and technical know-how of different research methodologies with strong analytical capacity as well as Knowledgeable on tool design for qualitative and quantitative research. Being the research focal and member of the Program Development Learning (PDL) team she/he will closely work with Program Management and Implementation (PMI) team and Girls’ Rights Hub to initiate and lead research activities. To meet up the criterias the person needs to have in depth understanding of different strategies of dissemination and ability to disseminate properly.
