Offer Description

The researcher will be part of the “Remediation and Catalytic Materials” (REMCAT) team within the UCCS laboratory. He or she will work under the supervision of Jean-François Lamonier as part of the ANR WASABIO project on waste management of fireproofed biocomposites. In particular, the researcher will study the chemical recycling of composites by thermal and catalytic pyrolysis.

The main objective of the work is to study the recyclability of biocomposites used by pyrolysis. In particular, the effect of functionalization on the recyclability of the material will be examined. The researcher’s activities will include :
• Pyrolytic testing of fresh and used biocomposites, in the presence and absence of a catalyst
• Optimization of experimental parameters for pyrolysis testing
• Synthesis of catalysts
• In-depth physico-chemical characterization of fresh and spent catalysts
• Analyze all the results and position them in relation to the literature to propose advances
• Write activity reports and present the results, write publications

The Solid-State Catalysis and Chemistry Unit (UMR 8181 CNRS) comprises around 115 researchers and teacher-researchers, 40 technical and administrative support staff and an average of 80 doctoral students and 20 post-doctoral researchers. Research activities are focused on energy, environmental protection and sustainable chemistry. The Unit is spread over several sites, at the University of Lille (Villeneuve-d’Ascq) and at the University of Artois (Lens). The researcher will work on on the Cité Scientifique and will be attached to building C3. The scientific activities of the Unit are based on three lines of research: heterogeneous catalysis, catalysis and molecular chemistry, solid-state chemistry. Within the Heterogeneous Catalysis axis, the researcher will work under the responsibility of Jean-François Lamonier, researcher at UCCS.
