Job Summary: |
This position is responsible for assisting the management of a highly complex food operation that includes Rathskeller, Stiftskeller and the Brat Stand, a large restaurant complex with alcohol service and concession sales. The Assistant Manager will provide direct supervision to full time and part time staff. This position is responsible for overall management of the unit, sales, customer satisfaction, food safety and profitability. |

Responsibilities: | Oversees daily food service operations including staff management and/or customer issue resolution in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals. This individual identifies work unit needs and contributes to the development of unit processes and procedures.

The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars. |
