WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Full-Time Charge Nurse/RN/LVN who practices as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act, Title XXII and OBRA Regulations. This position will provide professional nursing care such as medication administration and therapeutic treatments to the residents and subsequent back-up documentation as required. Offer direction and assistance to unit staff as needed.

SCHEDULE
· DAY & SWING SHIFT available – 7:00 am – 3:30pm & 3:00pm – 11:30pm
· Rate of pay – $32-$42/hour based on applicant license PLUS shift differentials ($0.40-$1.10) and stipends for professional licenses/certificates ($0.85-$1.35)
· $1300 SIGN ON BONUS
· Shifts will include weekends and some holidays
WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physicians’ order
· Respond to emergency situations and expedite indicated treatment, secure follow-up assistance
· Make rounds to insure that changes in treatment are addressed
· Visit residents by request to evaluate medical/emotional/nursing needs, pain management
· Inform Manager or Nursing/Doctor/Health Services Administrator of any events which may necessitate medical intervention
· Consult family members where indicated to insure that residents’ needs are met
· Maintain records, charts, and files as required
· Assess need for additional help or services for residents, coordinating with other departments to meet needs
· Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary team on the healthcare unit
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Broad based knowledge of nursing practices
· Skill in dealing with geriatric patients and chronic care needs
· Knowledge of medical care equipment and its use and operation
· Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse or LVN
· Minimum of one year experience in Geriatric Nursing preferred, but new grads welcomed
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must meet health assessment requirements as regulated by the California Department of Social Services. TB testing and fingerprint clearance required by California DSS/CCL. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and/or possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
