Position: Senior Communication Lead, Ontario Structured Psychotherapy

Employment: Temporary Full-time contract to March 31, 2024

Schedule: Days. Some evenings may be required on occasion.

FTE: 1.0

Location: CarePoint Health – 2695 North Sheridan Way, Suite 120, Mississauga, ON (with work from home options)

CPH is the Network Lead Organization for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP) in Brampton, Halton, Mississauga and South Etobicoke (OSP-BHM). OSP provides access to publicly funded, evidence-based, short-term, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and related approaches to clients with depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions.

What is this role?

CarePoint Health is seeking a Senior Communication Lead to develop communication strategies and products for the OSP-BHM network. Reporting to the Director, OSP-BHM, the Lead will work closely with the OSP Program Coordinator and CPH’s Practice Engagement Specialist to identify target audiences, develop key program messages and to implement the communication strategy. The Lead will also develop specific strategies and products to reach the regions priority populations. The incumbent will collaborate with regional partners and stakeholder as well as provincial providers and Ontario Health to develop strategies that align with stakeholder needs and input.


  • Leads the development of communication and engagement strategy for OSP-BMH
  • Develops and reviews programmatic key messages
  • Collaborates with regional and provincial stakeholders and partners on communication plans and products
  • Leads the development of communication products including but not limited to public facing brochures, posters, information sheets for healthcare providers, engagement presentations, newsletters and website
  • Leads development of specific communication and engagement strategies for OSP-BHM priority populations in collaboration with local partners and with people with lived experience
  • Develops social media strategy and evaluation of strategy
  • Develops and coordinates regional program promotion plans in alignment with provincial program goals and initiatives and in consultation with Regional Clinical Leads
  • Develops and leads OSP presentations for knowledge sharing and increasing awareness about OSP within mental health and addictions sector, hospitals, community agencies, primary care clinics and for other stakeholders as requested.
  • Actively participates in OSP provincial and regional committees and groups as needed


  • Demonstrates a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism through their planning and implementation of communications deliverables
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Marketing)
  • At least 7 years of experience with strategic communications planning, creative project management, or marketing in a non-for-profit role, preferably in an educational or health setting
  • Experience in health communications is an asset.
  • Experience engaging patients, clients and family members to obtain feedback and advice on communication and engagement products
  • Proven ability, experience, and working knowledge and understanding of integrated communications plans within a highly complex program
  • Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies
  • Ability to write dynamic, creative copy with a marketing flavour for different audiences is essential (Experience writing for multiple audiences)
  • Strong understanding of social media, digital communications and the web; interest in emerging trends and technologies
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to coordinate successful projects
  • Have expert eye for grammar and language usage along with well-developed proof-reading abilities
  • Excellent organization skills, easily able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and negotiate changes in priorities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Advanced level of experience with web content management systems and other online tools such as MailChimp (email marketing tool), Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign), Emplifi (or other social media monitoring and scheduling tools)
