SENIOR NETWORK DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (MIDLANDS AND EAST)
- £32475 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

About the role
A new and exciting opportunity to work with the Network Development team, to proactively
develop walking and cycling schemes, including the National Cycle Network (NCN) across England.
As the Senior Network Development Manager, you will programme manage projects to improve the
NCN across the midlands and East including the HS2 Corridor, ensuring that sufficient resources
are available to complete the projects.
The role of Senior Network Development manager will require you to manage NCN projects,
ensuring funds are available, and manage larger and more complex projects when required. You
will need to lead, plan, coordinate and prioritise the work of the Network Development team,
ensuring that the team is achieving the expected outcomes, tracking outcomes, and through
effective planning the minimalization of over or underutilisation.
The role will also require you to deliver feasibility studies, active travel strategies, and
coordinate and influence the strategic development of the NCN in the region.
Contributing to
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as Local
authorities and other clients and funders, including key senior officers and decision makers,
also Local Enterprise Partnerships
This role will require travel most weeks and work at locations as necessary to undertake
projects on behalf of Sustrans. Overnight stays away from may be required at times.
About you
You should have experience in leading, motivating, and managing a team, experience in project
and programme management, experience of working with local key persons, with the ability to
build relationships with ease across a wide range of people, and experience of working in
partnership with other groups/ organisations and a broad range of individuals.
You will be skilled in motivating a team, data collection and analysis of data to compile
reports, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of working on projects with and establish timeframe,
experience in transport planning or a related subject and experience in delivering feasibility
studies and reports. You will have experience in multipurpose route development and using GIS
(Geographical Information Systems) mapping software.
You should be experienced in contributing to funding bids, and reporting to funders, as well as
being experienced in land negotiation and acquisition.

transport agenda and infrastructure in the Midlands and east area
