Salary: Band 8 £32,020, – £34,722 plus a market supplement of £3,987

Your New Role
You will support the preparation, monitoring and review of the Local Plan and other development
plan documents. You will draft evidence and written representations to support public inquiries
and examinations in public, whilst commenting on local plans from neighbouring local planning
authorities.
You will analyse and respond to planning legislation/ guidance and policy consultations as well
as undertake public consultation on planning policy documents. You will also represent the
Council at planning meetings (including sub regional planning groups), conferences and
seminars.
You will be someone who can be flexible in your responsibilities within the planning
department. This will involve assisting others with their work areas as required including
Development Management and provide guidance and support to the technical officers and other
planning officers.
What you need to succeed
You will be educated to degree level in Town and Country Planning or have an equivalent
qualification, with some experience of working in planning policy. You will also have current
knowledge of planning legislation and procedures and experience in community
consultation/participation.

programme plus a good communicator who can develop partnerships with other organisations then
