The Strategic Change Office (SCO) works across the University to plan and implement a range of strategic initiatives ensuring that the University builds on its reputation as a world leading institution.

We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Project / Programme Manager to join the vibrant and inclusive Strategic Change Office at the University of Manchester.

The successful applicant will lead on the management, set up and delivery of project and programme management processes for key initiatives and short-term projects, working with colleagues across the University to facilitate transformational change in the delivery of the University’s strategic plan. The role involves management of a number of Project Managers working on distinct initiatives across the portfolio. The initiatives by their nature may well be complex, involving significant people, process and technology changes. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to demonstrate the value of utilising methodologies, without allowing programme and project management to become the project, will be key to keeping stakeholders engaged and the team adequately supported.

You’ll have significant experience of applying best practice project, programme and change management methodologies across the full lifecycle whilst leading a team of Project Managers and other PMO professionals working on separate initiatives. You will be supporting their development through coaching, mentoring and management of objectives.
