The Conservation Volunteers – The Community Volunteering Charity

Every day TCV works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone –
communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and
outdoor places.

Being an administrator in TCV provides the opportunity to make a real difference to people,
communities, and green spaces.

About the role:

We need a very capable, adaptable and good humoured administrator to support the TCV team at
Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds. This beautiful eco-building is set in a 10 acre
wildlife area in south Leeds, and welcomes over 7000 people a year to a range of education,
health, job skills and recreation opportunities in the natural environment.

Your 4 days a week (do ask us about flexibility) will be spent supporting our staff &
volunteer team to respond to the needs of running our busy centre.

This will include:

  • managing incoming and outgoing communication,
  • greeting visitors
  • completing financial tasks around invoicing and procurement
  • creating & distributing newsletters via mailchimp and email
  • managing our local TCV web pages
  • updating our communication through social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram),
    other marketing channels and event promotion websites (including Eventbrite)
  • organising local promotional events.
  • developing and maintaining electronic information storage and retrieval systems
  • collating, analysing and disseminating reports and information, and

A key part of TCV’s work is engaging and supporting volunteers, and you will oversee the
administration and promotion of the recruitment of Volunteers and Volunteer Officers. We also
engage many others in our work through workshops, events and building hire, and you will manage
the marketing, administration and organisation of meetings and local conferences, centre
bookings, catering and event management.

Ideally the post holder will be an experienced and enthusiastic administrator who has a strong
interest in volunteering and the potential of people!
