1. Project Background
The Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) is a multilateral initiative that advances sustainable cross-border connectivity infrastructure in developing countries through partnerships and the promotion of International Financial Institution standards.
The MCDF Secretariat supports the daily operations of MCDF. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) serves as Administrator of MCDF and host of the MCDF Secretariat.
The MCDF Secretariat is seeking a Social Media and Digital Content consultant to boost MCDF’s social media and digital content development.
2. Objectives of the Assignment
Leverage social media and digital content to enhance the visibility of MCDF, understanding of MCDF’s mission, and awareness of, participation in, and broader support for its work among donor countries and prospective donor countries, International Financial Institutions, beneficiary countries, and other partners and stakeholders.
3. Scope of Services
The consultant will support MCDF’s social media activities, under the guidance of the Senior Communications Officer. Key services will include producing and managing photos, graphics, videos, and a new podcast series; developing corporate communications materials; and undertaking related projects and administrative tasks.
4. Consultancy Output / Deliverables
MCDF social media and digital content strategy, production, promotion, data tracking, impact assessments, reporting, and administrative tasks.
5. Implementation Arrangement
The consultant will conduct the day-to-day work at the office of the MCDF Secretariat in Beijing. There may be occasions when the consultant is requested to provide services off-site, such as during meetings, events, and special activities.
6. Support to the Consultant by the Bank
The consultant will report directly to the MCDF Senior Communications Officer.
7. Knowledge Transfer and Training
The consultant will bring MCDF a high level of social media and digital content skills and experience.
Qualification Requirement
-At least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor degree in communications, marketing, political science, foreign affairs, or a related field; post-graduate degree is a plus
-English fluency; working-level Chinese language an advantage
-Solid writing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal communications skills
-Strong knowledge of social media landscape and best practices
-Online content production, multimedia development, and design skills
-Experience guiding successful outreach campaigns and projects
-Effective multitasking and meets deadlines
-Experience managing vendors, budgets, and other administrative tasks preferred
-Knowledge of, and/or an interest in, foreign affairs, economics, development, or finance
-Experience overseas or in an international organization, financial institution, or NGO a plus
