STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS, ALBERTA NORTH LEAD
The Stakeholder Relations, Alberta North Lead acts as WBF’s ambassador for Northern Alberta. Building and foster external connections with industry and community organizations, you will support in bringing awareness of WBF and nurturing relationships to support our core mission. This role allows for someone to become a large part of WBF and the community by hosting informational forums, bridging/mentorship for applicant support in new programs and connecting with industry employers. You will be a liaison with the Women Building Futures head office, student, industry partners and local community support services. This is an all-encompassing role supported out of the Edmonton office.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Stakeholder Relations, Alberta North Lead for Women Building Futures (WBF) you will have a key role in the execution of the organizational Strategic Plan in the region. This role has a primary focus on external relationships, explorers, community partners and industry partners, while collaborating with the main teams at WBF’s Head Office. This role will require strong communication skills and local knowledge to move ideas into action. You will collaborate across many WBF teams including Community & Indigenous Relations, Readiness, Admissions & Enrollment, Industry Relations and Senior Leadership.
Leadership & Management
- Collaborate with the Director, Stakeholder & Government Relations and Manager, Industry Relations to support and development a strategy for Northern Alberta
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across teams to support the success of Northern Alberta programs and partnerships
- Support the research on industry employment trends and major projects and share this research both internally with WBF staff and externally with industry stakeholders
External Relations
- Establish and build strong relationships with local government and employer contacts at the executive and senior management level in Northern Alberta.
- Work with WBF’s Indigenous relations team to build relationships with Indigenous communities in your region
- Develop and foster a growing community of ‘Employers of Choice’ to hire WBF alumni and support their career progression
- Represent WBF, throughout Northern Alberta and at various industry events and networking opportunities that align with organizational objectives
- Deliver compelling presentations at industry events that position WBF as a strategic community partner
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships through relationship contacts
- Deliver information sessions to explorers to learn more about WBF programs and workshops

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong communication – writing, presentations to diverse audiences
- Strong computer skills – MS Office, Razors Edge, CRM, MS Teams
- Confidence in supporting fund development
- Leadership
- Understanding of project management cycles and able to support
- Knowledge of the various industries in Northern Alberta and the careers that support
- Team player that is willing to support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of proven experience in a variety of business-related roles or NFP relationship management
- Experience in relationship building and management
- Exposure to social purpose or non-profit organizations
- Experience with Indigenous populations; knowledge of available community resources for Indigenous applicants and students
- Degree in related field – business or commerce (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in trades, construction or mining industry
- Evidence of ongoing learning.

Manager, Industry Relations; Regular liaisons with Recruitment, Programming, Indigenous Engagement, Strategic Communications and internal Subject Matter Experts.
