Student Assistant

Students with interest in physical activity and healthcare, especially among the adult population are strongly encouraged to apply. The applicant should have experience (or willingness) working with members in the healthcare profession, be highly organized and have good personal and written communication skills.

Duties:

• Work as an extended member of the healthcare team, providing evidence-based exercise programs to referred patients.
• Promote and accelerate the advancement of the program within our campus’s medical professionals regarding physical activity assessment, referral process, and exercise prescription services.  
• Promoting and assessing physical activity among students, faculty and staff on campus through the American College of Sports Medicine-On Campus initiative.
• Involvement with the American College of Sports Medicine Central States Exercise is Medicine Chapter.

 

Job Requirements

Education:

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. 

Certifications:

•  Certified Personal Trainer from accredited program.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to maintain client schedules and data recording.
