Student Navigator (Macdonald Campus) Tuesdays and Thursdays (6h/week).
Hourly rate: $15.23
Hiring Unit: User Services – Macdonald Campus Library
Under the direction of a library staff member, the student navigator:
Lends materials of various formats;
Photocopying, scanning and transmitting documents;
Answers simple inquiries and directional questions;
Provides assistance in navigating the Library and McGill websites as well as providing basic support in the use of technology located in the branch library (computers, scanners, printers, etc.)
Contributes to the inventory, processing, shelving, shifting, and organizing of library materials;
Ensures appropriate guidelines are followed in relation to the use of the facilities;
Performs other supplementary tasks as assigned.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Must be client-focused and service-oriented. Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: handling, carrying and lifting of library materials. Previous library or similar experience preferred. English: spoken, read, written and French is an asset. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
